Graduate Diploma - Geophysics
The Graduate Diploma in Geophysics is a first qualification in geophysics for graduates from related disciplines such as geology, physics, mathematics, engineering or surveying. It is not for geophysics graduates. The course includes units appropriate to the particular student's needs as an introduction to all areas of geophysics. Graduates of this course may continue on to the Master of Science in Geophysics for advanced training. (See the Curtin Handbook entry here...)
-
Master of Science (by coursework) - Geophysics
This course is only open to persons who already have an honours degree or equivalent. As such it is particularly suited to senior geophysicists who wish to become familiar with recent geophysical developments. The coursework elements must be new to the student and are selected in consultation with the course coordinator or Head of Department. A minor project with a formal report is required. (See the Curtin Handbook entry here...)
Senior Research Programs
-
Master of Philosophy (by thesis) - Geophysics
This research course provides opportunity for students to carry out advanced research on a specified topic. It is designed to provide an opportunity for students to develop their potential for research, to identify and work towards the solution of a problem. (See the Curtin Handbook entry here...)
-
Doctor of Philosophy - Geophysics
Doctoral research degree candidates should uncover new knowledge either by the discovery of new facts, the formulation of theories or the innovative reinterpretation of known data and established ideas. The content of the degree is determined in consultation with the head of the relevant school or department and the graduate studies committee in the relevant division.
