Effective May 5th 2004, Professor Boris Gurevich has been appointed Director of the Curtin Reservoir Geophysics Consortium (CRGC). The Founding Director, Professor John McDonald, retired from Curtin in July 2004.  He will remain associated with the Department as an Adjunct Professor.

The Curtin Reservoir Geophysics Consortium (CRGC) was founded in 1998 and is the first industrial consortium in the Southern Hemisphere directed at research in Exploration Geophysics.

The aim of research sponsored by the CRGC is to address problems of imaging in complex heterogeneous reservoirs. Better imaging will enable better directed drilling programs and increased recovery from known reservoirs.
